Accounting Support Specialist (Remote)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounting Support Specialist with a strong understanding of US GAAP and prior experience working with international clients. In this role, you will support end-to-end Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) processes, ensure accurate financial records, and assist in timely reporting and compliance.

 

Responsibilities:

 Accounts Receivable (AR) Support

·         Monitor receivables and follow up proactively to support timely collections.

·         Assist with customer account reconciliations and resolution of discrepancies.

·         Apply incoming payments accurately, including multi-currency transactions.

·         Coordinate with sales, operations, and customers to resolve billing or payment issues.

·         Prepare and maintain AR aging reports and flag overdue balances.

 

Accounts Payable (AP) Support

·         Process vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring appropriate approvals and coding.

·         Support domestic and international vendor payments via wire transfers, ACH, or checks.

·         Reconcile vendor statements and assist in resolving invoice discrepancies.

·         Ensure adherence to internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures.

·         Maintain vendor master data and support vendor onboarding activities.

 

Compliance & Reporting 

·         Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.

·         Assist with internal, external, and tax audits by preparing and providing documentation.

·         Prepare and maintain AR/AP-related reports and schedules as required.

 

Requirements: 

·         Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

·         4–6 years of experience in AR/AP or accounting support roles, preferably in a multinational environment.

·         Strong understanding of US GAAP accounting principles.

·         Hands-on experience working with international clients and vendors.

·         Proficiency with ERP/accounting systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, QuickBooks).

·         Strong Excel skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.

·         Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

·         Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
